To say Koh Tao gets its fair share of sunny days is an understatement, the sea breeze helps but remember to pack your sun cream!
General Season: January - October, and December
Most of the year is sunny and hot. Towards the end of December through to January the island becomes very popular so be sure to let us know well in advance if your coming so we can guarantee accommodation. Around 3 weeks into March Koh Tao celebrates a two day island festival for locals and tourists alike. April and May are the hottest months and April 13th is a Thai New Year holiday called Songkran - a huge water festival takes place throughout the whole country with nobody being let off! If your here around these times make sure you get to see some traditional Thai fun!
Temperatures: The average temperatures is around 29°C. April and May has an average temperature of 32°C and can sometimes get up to 40°C. The water temperature is around 30-32°C.
Wet Season: November
The northeast monsoon winds brings short downpours, tropical storms and floods. It usually rains in the evening and the heavy showers are typically brief leaving many sunny periods. The island slows down a bit in this season with the benefit of less tourist crowds and off-season prices.
Temperatures: The heat is relieved a bit by the cooling rain, the average high temperature is 27°C in November and Water temperature is about 27-28°C.
